The Humanities & Social Sciences (HUMSS) strand originated from the long tradition of studying people, culture, and, society—rooted in the humanities of ancient times and the social sciences that emerged in the 18th-19th century. In the Philippines, it officially started in 2016 with the implementation of the K to 12 program, offering senior high school students a track focused on communication, liberal arts, education, and the social sciences to prepare them for people-oriented careers.
We started Humanista Diaries because we wanted to create a platform that helps students balance both their studies and personal life. Many young people today struggle with time management, study habits, and relationships, so the website offers simple and practical tips to guide them. It also provides HUMSS subject reviewers to support learners in their academic journey. By giving relatable advice and resources, Humanista Diaries aims to motivate students, reduce their stress, and encourage healthier habits for the future. Overall, we started this website to be a reliable companion for the youth in both academic success and personal growth.
The primary users of Humanista Diaries will be HUMSS students, other Senior High School learners, and young people who want to balance academics with personal life. It will also be useful for teens who need practical advice on study habits, time management, and self-improvement.
Humanista Diaries aims to grow into a more interactive platform where students can share experiences, access broader resources, and gain insights from educators and alumni. Beyond HUMSS reviewers, we plan to include career guides, college preparation tips, and practical advice to help learners not only in Senior High but also in their future paths.
Today, Humanista Diaries serves as a trusted space for upcoming and current HUMSS students, offering study tips, subject reviewers, and advice that help them balance academics with personal life. What began as a simple idea has grown into a supportive platform that motivates learners to achieve both academic and personal growth.
